About us
Fifteen years of the same unglamorous discipline.
Imperial India Mudra Investments Pvt. Ltd. helps individuals and non-individuals choose investments that fit an actual goal — not whatever happened to perform well last year.
Most people arrive with a portfolio rather than a plan — a handful of schemes bought at different times for different reasons, none of them attached to anything they are actually trying to fund.
We work the other way round. Before a single scheme is discussed, we map what could go wrong: an income that stops, a health event, a portfolio concentrated in one place, a goal with nothing funding it. Only then does the question of where the money goes make sense.
That framework has not changed in 15 years, through two market crashes and one pandemic. What changes is the plan, reviewed as clients marry, have children, sell businesses and retire.
We are an AMFI registered mutual fund distributor. We do not sell insurance disguised as investment, we do not chase last year’s top performer, and we tell clients when the honest answer is that a goal needs more time or a smaller number.

How we work
Three steps, always in this order.
It is deliberately unexciting. Excitement is what sells products; sequence is what funds goals.
01
Identify the risks
Income shocks, health events, concentrated holdings, goals with nothing funding them. Written down before anything is bought.
02
Devise a plan to mitigate them
Asset allocation, the right mix across equity, debt and hybrid, and a contribution schedule that survives a bad year.
03
Achieve financial freedom
Reviews that keep the plan honest as life changes — a new child, a business shift, a market that tests everyone.
The road so far
Fifteen years, and the markets that tested them.
The framework has not changed. What changed around it is worth knowing, because every one of these was a year somebody wanted to stop investing.
2010
The practice begins in Nagpur
Registered with AMFI as a mutual fund distributor, working with families and business owners across the city.
2013
The taper tantrum
Indian equities and the rupee both fell hard on a change of tone from the US Federal Reserve. The clients who kept their SIPs running through it bought that year's units cheaply.
2016
Demonetisation
A year that pushed a great deal of household saving out of cash and into financial assets for the first time, and a year of explaining that a market event and a plan are different things.
2020
The pandemic crash
A fall of roughly a third in five weeks, and a full recovery inside a year. The phone calls that March are the reason most of our clients were still invested for what followed.
Today
Two offices, two generations
Imperial India Mudra Investments Pvt. Ltd. operates from Dharampeth and Shrikrishna Nagar, with a branded app and portal for clients who would rather check a portfolio at midnight than wait for a statement.
Meet the people behind it.
You will deal with the same two people every time — not a call centre.
